Bike Tour of Phuket Town on 23rd May 2010.

Sunday 23rd May 2010, Thailand Tourism Authority of Thailand arranged a bike tour of Phuket town, many local riders turned up for the event. The aim was to promote the historic and cultural sites of Phuket town, visiting Chinese Temples, parts of old town Phuket with Sino-Portugese architecture and just get alot of people togther for a fun ride.

Down a small alley is the entrance to a Chinese temple, so well hidden that most people would miss it.

In Phuket there are places of worship from many religions, Chinese Temples, Buddhist Temples, Muslim Mosques and also Christian Churches.

Kamala Mountain Bike Competition

On 1st February 2009 Kamala Beach in Phuket hosted a Mountain Bike Competition. There are already several well known MTB competitions in Phuket including but not limited to Kata and Karon Mountain Bike competitions. The turn out was good and the event was regarded as a big succuss so for sure it will be the first of many such Mountain Biking races to be held in Kamala.

Feb 1st 2009 was the first MTB competition held in Kamala, Phuket.

The route was 7.5km and there were two main categorys; A-open which was 4 laps of the 7.5km route and B-open which was 3 laps of the same route.

7.5km, 60% on road and 40% off road.

Of the various groups and categories the Childrens male race had the greatest number of participants. The Childrens female race had just three girls, great for the 3 girls as they were all gauranteed a podium position as long as they completed the race.
